Industry Community

James is currently working with Australia’s leading installation company directors, as part of an industry collective putting in much needed front end work to map the safety competency framework for turbine installation works. This will develop the workforce competency based tools required to ensure our industry workers have a clear understanding of safety elements involved.

Industry Achievements

  • Transitioned a 3rd tier civil contractor to top tier multidiscipline contractor on world first Hybrid Energy Project.
  • Developed, implemented and managed H&S framework for corporate portfolio with 21 business units throughout Asia Pacific.
  • Developed the first major project client led H&S assurance program, that was “schedule live” in risk profile management.
  • Developed H&S Assurance & Compliance auditing program for Major LNG Project.
  • Championed and workshop facilitated multiple behaviour based safety programs.
  • Permit to Work & Site Standards technical development & leadership workshop facilitation on multiple projects

    Major Projects

Santos GLNG Project – Plant & Port

Santos is one of Australia’s largest producers of gas to the domestic market and has the largest exploration and production acreage position in Australia of any company.The Santos GLNG Project is an $18.5 billion
venture to convert coal seam natural gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Contract position responsible for supervising the EPC Contractor on the $10.5 billion LNG plant and port project at Gladstone.

Monitor Contractor HSE performance for the GLNG Plant facilities including: Inlet gas treatment, 2 Train gas liquefaction plant, LNG storage tanks, LNG Product Loading Facility, Jetty, Material Offloading Facility (MOF) and heavy haul road.

Downer CPG Projects

Ravensworth North Project is a 1.4B$ surface coal mine expansion. The project involves the construction of the coal handling and preparation plant including related infrastructure, associated coal stacking and train load-out facilities.

Straits Resources – Tritton Mines

The Tritton copper mine, located near Nyngan in NSW, consists of 2 operating & 1 decommissioned underground mining operation which includes a conventional crushing and flotation plant, with concentrate produced for smelters in the Asia Pacific region.

Foster Wheeler Worleyparsons

The $14.9B Woodside Pluto LNG Project is a joint venture between Woodside, Tokyo Gas and Kansai Electric.

Nacco Materials Handling Group

NMHG is one of the world’s largest lift truck manufacturers with four business units throughout Asia-Pacific. Hyster, Yale, National Fleet Network & its wholesale parts supply business had a workforce of 2000+ field technicians throughout Australia.

  • H&S Improvement Strategy development and management
  • Facilitation of a Behaviour Based Safety Program.
  • Implementing effective H&S consultation throughout Australia
  • Commitment by NMHG management regarding KPI’s for safety auditing and H&S meetings.
  • Development of NMHG’s Rehabilitation Policy & Injury Management Program.
  • Reduction of $25,000 from the NSW workers compensation premium.
  • Reduction of $175,000 from the National workers compensation estimates.
FLUOR Cadia East Project

The Newcrest Cadia East Project is a $2B surface & underground gold mine expansion involved the construction and commissioning of new plant in an operating area as well as underground in a newly developed mine.
